ADAM PAYNE
1.20.2012

Biography
Adam is about as eclectic as his sound. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to an Italian mother and African American father. In the late 80s, Adam and his family moved to Sarasota, Florida. By the age of 8, Adam drew his musical inspiration not from haughty music teachers, such as Mozart or Beethoven, but from Saturday morning cartoons, Sonic the hedgehog and Mario. Adam picked up the piano as he mimicked the music from cartoons and video games. During his senior year of High School he took on the guitar and the drums.

Payne has shared the show-bill with artists ranging from Ben Harper and The Avett Brothers to The Pharcyde and members of the Wu-Tang Clan.  He has collaborated with Artists all over the globe, and lends his writing, production and vocal talents to projects of all kinds, including producing and composing the music for a documentary film about the Rwandan Genocide entitled 'Coexist.'

Adam is also active in the community, and supports a myriad of causes.  Payne is the founder of the Benefit for Jane, a cause which raises funds and awareness of Kidney Cancer in honor of his late mother and is sponsored by the Kidney Cancer Association.

On three separate occasions, Adam was featured on CBS Channel 4 Boston's 'Sundays with Liz Walker' and he was also generously recognized in the Boston Globe.  Payne was also featured in Sonicbids' 'SonicBlog,' in which he speaks about his success in utilizing Sonicbids as an effective tool for his music career.  http://sonicblog.sonicbids.com/adam-payne.  In addition, Payne recently attended the MIDEM Music Conference in France on behalf of Sonicbids where he spoke on a panel about brands and their interest in independent artists.

Delta Airlines featured Adam's song "The Way it Goes" on their in-flight radio station and in 'Sky Magazine.'

SILHOUETTE RISING
1.27.2012

Biography
It's 1 AM in Gary Cioffi's studio (Transit, Stay, Sleep City) and American Idol's Jesse McCullagh has just finished vocals for Silhouette Rising's new full length “Ode to Vandalism.” Silhouette Rising has been a band for seven years, but a lot has changed since their last full length “Promises.” They have two new vocalists, a brand new sound, and a totally different view on things. The members of Transit gather around the speakers trying to determine what genre SR is. “Dude, it's like Sublime, and Incubus thrown in a blender...I think.” It's not easy to peg what these guys sound like. They've always stood out at live shows for being so diverse. With jazz, metal, folk, and pop roots these guys finally feel that they have nurtured an organic sound that is Silhouette Rising.
It hasn't been easy. Over the past seven years the band has faced crowd skepticism, car accidents, state boundaries, internal disputes, and the loss of members. They have also bordered the key to fame on several occasions. Through the years the band has worked closely with Warner Records reps, Envy on the Coast and Escape the Fate's sound guy, Ryan John, producer Joe Laquidara (Boston, Aerosmith), Atomic Tom, and Jesse McCullagh who made it to Hollywood week on American Idol.
It's a new beginning and the band couldn't feel more positive about things. SR has a unique sound with heartfelt lyrics, pop sensibilities, and outstanding musicianship. Find out what local TV, newspapers, fans and radio stations including 92.5 The River are raving about. Hop on board, and follow Silhouette Rising as if these were the Woodstock days.

EVOLFO DOOFEHT
2.3.2012

Biography
In high school years Evolfo Doofeht started as the house band for a contemporary production of 'Twelfth Night", playing funky covers of Velvet Underground songs.  Thus the name Evolfo Doofeht (The Food of Love spelled backwards) taken from the line "If Music be the food of love, play on."  After the play ended they took their zany image and quirky covers out to clubs and venues around the San Francisco bay area (including such famed venues as Slim's and The Throckmorton) and gained a substantial following there.  Over the remainder of their high school years the image of the band got gradually more absurd and the music was honed more into a high energy and unique form of gypsy-funk.  Artists such as Vernon "Ice" Black, Devon Baldwin, Rozzi Crane, and Candlespit Collective have taken interest and joined Evolfo Doofeht for performances.

In the summer of 2009 the band's leader/manager/songwriter Matthew Gibbs graduated high school and planned to attend Berklee School of Music to hone his skills as an arranger and manager.  But he had no intention of ending the band or going on hiatus. He took the name, energy, and songs, re-staffed slightly, and added to the funky family that continues to grow in performance and musicality.

The band currently draws influence from such artists James Brown, Tom Waits, Parliament Funkadelic and Gogol Bordello.  Band members include a number of Berklee students and any other talented and interested musicians from the Boston area.
